I'll Meet You There

I used to play in the corn field
My pants wet up to my knees
Living in a world of adventure
The boys from the back road and me
Smoking cigarettes behind the wall
From a packet stolen from the kitchen
What would mam  if she knew
But we were just being children
What would mam say
When I came home
From some jungle adventure
At the end of the road
Torn pants and bloody hands
And two wars won
A thousand miles travelled
Before the sun went down
I will never be so old again
I dont to be so old again
And Johnny went to the other side of town
And I went to the other side of the world
In books and in numbers and secret places
I called your name but you never heard
Blackberry bulletholes
And the boys from the back road
Never stopped me then
And they wont stop me now
Let me take your old
Leather skinned hand
Clothes your eyes
Let me show you how
We can send our spirits there
We can meet each other there
When everything was simple
And the world was full of dreams
We can meet each other there
We can both be born again
Ill meet you in the corn field
Our pants wet up to our knees
